Men and Their Nose Jobs
More and more are jumping into the nose job line to have their central face feature altered. Just as in women, a disfigured nose can have a direct effect on a males ego just as much as baldness or Erectile Dysfunction. They may also choose to have a nose job to correct breathing obstructions, fix a broken nose due to a sports injury or correct a birth deformity.
The youngest clients that can be accepted to receive a nose job must be at least 16 years of age, with many cosmetic plastic surgeons suggested a few years beyond that. This age marks the time when a male’s nose stops growing and stabilizes itself on the face.
Emphasis placed on the contour and shape of the nose and once the individual parts have been manipulated to adjust its overall size and symmetry the finished product can be quite striking. Many male nose job patients will also to elect to extend their adjustments to the chin to create a more balanced look to the face.
As with women, the procedure is most often done in an out patient facility. Incision will vary according to desired result but most are a simple procedure will pull the skin away from the nose, exposing the bone and cartilage. This gives the surgeon access to the areas of the nose that need reshaping. Once the work is completed the nose skin is replaced and attached with small scar minimizing dis solvable sutures. A splint is often applied to protect and support the nose at It heals.
Packing may also be included. This “packing” is simply a wad of gauze pushed up the nose, which is very uncomfortable. Most Rhinoplasty surgeons try to avoid it.
Most men who have endured a nose job are satisfied with the result, not only for the aesthetic benefit but for the increased confidence it instills.
